Gary Schreiner is an award-winning composer for film and television. He composed the music for the films: Run For Cover, Pirates of Central Park, Celeste, Late Watch (featured in this years Tribeca Film Festival), Thomas Berry, The Great Story.
His music can also be heard in the films: Donnie Brasco, A Cool Dry Place, Liberty Heights, Bedazzled, Proof of Life, Evolution, Dr. Dolittle II, Simone, I am Sam, Learning Curves, Auto Focus, Tiptoes, Be Cool (sequel to Get Shorty--to be released) and the Oscar-nominate Ray: The Ray Charles Story,
Gary received an Emmy for his work on the PBS special Sneakers, starring Jon Secada. He has also worked for Disney arranging Phil Collins' music for the animated film Tarzan.
TV works include music for: MTV, Lifetime, VH1, The Discovery Channel, The Oprah Winfrey Show, One Life to Live, New York Undercover, The X files, and Comedy Central's Chappelle's Show (last season, currently).
Theatre: The English American (comedy-drama) featured in The Edinburgh Festival as well as this year's London Comedy Festival. Soon to be performed Off-Broadway in New York City.
His music for television commercials includes the award winning Cotton Council Commercial, Ralph Lauren (My Romance) and Pepsi (Jimi Hendrix) featured at this year's Super Bowl.
His composing and arranging talents range from classical to techno, jazz to rock, country to swing to world music, utilizing computers and synthesizers, live musicians and singers.
Gary is as accomplished as a performer and studio musician as he is a producer and arranger. His work on keyboards, accordion and chromatic harmonica can be heard on many CDs, including Grammy-nominee Joan Osborne's live album and Chris Rock's comedy CD, Roll With The New. He has also worked with other such diverse artists as Yoko Ono, Pheobe Snow, Marvin Hamlisch, Run-DMC, Lucy Kaplansky, Carly Simon, Ben Taylor, Blue Man Group, John Pizzarelli, Dave Chappelle , Kermit the Frog, and World Champion figure skater Randy Gardner.
